Teens are dumb as hell (and I speak as a former teen myself) and they are wanting to seem grown and independent. The difference between a 21 year old and a 16 year old is HUGE in terms of mental development and growth. Sure there’s a power dynamic but there’s also such a gap in development as well.
I can’t imagine wanting to be friends with them, I’d feel old and/or a babysitter. I feel like, “hello fellow youths, I also enjoy the tik tok”. I’m 26 and I work in a store in the mall part time as a second job and I feel such a disconnect with my younger co-workers (all 22-24) let alone when I teen walks in the store.
